Off the AP (via the globe), Drivers who open their doors without first checking to see if a bicyclist is approaching from behind will be subject to a $100 fine under a bill signed into law by Gov. Deval Patrick.
Now why the hell did this come off the wires? Why the heck did they have it first? Just sayin’
But on another note, this bill looks great. Its so easy to get doored while out biking, and although it’s never happened to me, every cyclist has close calls.
Of course, Menino’s pushing for a law that would make it possible to ticket cyclists, so, easy come, easy go I guess.
